Apex Commodity Markets Ltd. is a boutique physical commodity brokerage that focuses on niche products and projects.
We were founded in 2015, and while we are a relatively young company, our senior personnel have extensive experience within the bulk commodity and financial arenas.

Toyin Are
Toyin Are is a professional with over a decade and half worth of experience at a number of leading financial institutions.
Toyin has a wide base of product knowledge having worked on the cash equity trading floor at Merrill Lynch.
Toyin has also worked for the leading asset manager, Alliance Bernstein across products such as fixed Income, futures and cash equities.
Toyin was instrumental in establishing the physical commodity desk at Novus Capital Markets where he managed to grow the desk from 1 client to over 200 clients in the space of two years.
Toyin read Economics at the University of Hertfordshire, his most recent venture is the establishment of Apex Commodity Markets.
Guy Bentinck is a seasoned operations/financial executive with a record of accomplishments in operations, strategy, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
Mr. Bentinck has almost 30-years’ experience in the resource and
energy sectors.
He is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Potash Ridge Corporation, and provides consulting for an investment company on the identification, development and execution of strategy and potential investments. He also sits the boards of two international companies.
Mr. Bentinck previously worked at Sherritt International Corporation in a number of roles, including Senior Vice President, Capital Projects, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Bentinck has raised over $5 billion of equity, debt and project financing, both in the public markets and privately. During his career, he has also overseen the execution of multiple large-scale resource and energy projects ranging between $200 million and $5 billion.
Mr. Bentinck has a Masters of Art in Accountancy/Economics from University of Aberdeen and is a Chartered Accountant in Scotland and Ontario. He is a dual Canadian-UK citizen.
Hartwig C Schuen holds a Bs.C. (Econ) in Industrial and Business Economics from the London School of Economics. He started his banking career in 1995 with Bank Austria in Vienna. From 1997 until 1999 he worked for the bank’s subsidiary in Moscow where he was responsible for commodity and trade finance.
In 1999 Hartwig joined WestLB’s Commodity Finance department in Duesseldorf, Germany where he held several positions including the Head of Energy and Chemicals financing.
In 2007 Hartwig moved to the London offices of Sempra Energy Trading, to become Head of Structured Trade Finance.
Following the establishment of RBS Sempra Commodities, the commodities arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland, in 2008 he became Managing Director for Origination and Business Development.
After the sale of some of the assets of RBS Sempra Commodities to J.P. Morgan Hartwig joined the investment bank as Managing Director for Commodity-linked Finance.
In 2011 he left J.P. Morgan and joined Freepoint Commodities, a then newly established commodity trader in London as Managing Director for European Origination and Business Development. Since 2013 he is an independent advisor to commodity companies.
